Building Torat Yisrael's Future: Torat Yisrael's Frederic G. and Lawrence G. Cohen Religious School Finds an Interim Home In East Greenwich!
Torat Yisrael President Susan Smoller, Bev Goncalves, our School Committee Chairperson, Ronni Guttin, our Education Director and Rabbi Amy Levin are delighted to announce that all of Torat Yisrael’s elementary and middle school regularly scheduled Sunday and Tuesday classes will be held in East Greenwich beginning in September 2009 / Elul 5769.
An interim home for the Yeladon K-1 class and the Cohen School 2-7 grade classes has been offered to us by Heather Mayo of the Village Lower School, 2220 South County Trail in East Greenwich (across from Bostitch).
The search for this new location began with the approval of Torat Yisrael’s officers and board of directors and with the unanimous support of all our Yeladon and Cohen School families. “Educationally, this is a big improvement for our children,” commented Ronni Guttin. “Now all our children will be learning together, older students can role model for our younger students, and we can continue to build that warm community-based learning environment that is at the heart of all we do with our children and our families.”
Our entire Torat Yisrael family extends our gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful clergy, leadership and membership of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Greenwich who welcomed our Yeladon K-1 class with such warmth and joy during the course of this 2008/9 – 5769 academic year.
Registration for the Yeladon K-1 and Cohen Religious School 2-7 grade classes is now open. Please let your friends in the area know. All inquiries should be directed to Ronni Guttin: ronni@toratyisrael.org; 785-1800. To submit an on-line request, use the form on this page.
