Participants order from the menu and we study Jewish sources addressing current issues. Everyone is welcome--bring a friend!


Shabbat Yachad / "Shabbat Together"

Shabbat Yachad is our very "together" shabbat, featuring a brief Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by a family dinner with a guest speaker. We have enjoyed several stimulating and inspiring addresses lately, so take advantage of the opportunity to spend time with your TY friends learning about topics of interest to us as Jews and as members of the larger Rhode Island community.

After a winter hiatus, join us for Shabbat Yachad on Friday, March 2nd with Andrea Epstein, our Kesher Social Worker,  on "Coping with the Challenges of Memory."  

Shabbat Services at 6:00 pm. Dinner and speaker at 7:00 pm.
Cost: $10 adults/ $5 children ages 10-18 /Children under 10 Free Family maximum $30.

TGIS! Thank God It's Shabbat!

Torat Yisrael's youngest families are welcoming Shabbat with a whole new program! We'll be thanking God for Shabbat with singing, storytelling, games and kid-friendly meal. TGIS takes place on Friday afternoon, once a month at our home in East Greenwich (1251 Middle Rd) from 4:30 to about 6:00 pm.  Next TGIS: Friday, February 10th
Cost: $100 will register your family for the entire TGIS program year. Mail your check designated for TGIS to:

You may RSVP and designate dietary limitations and allergies on our RSVP form, or call the TY office at 785-1800. Please RSVP each month so we know how much food to prepare.


Hug N'hamah ("Circle of Consolation")

Bereavement Discussion Group, alternate Thursday evenings at 7:30pm, facilitated by Rabbi Amy Levin and Tom Broffman, Phd. Members of Torat Yisrael and non-members are equally welcome.

Shalom to Shabbat! 
                     A Happy Half-Hour!

Second Friday of the month at Temple Torat Yisrael in Cranston!
Join us for Shalom to Shabbat!  A "Happy Half-Hour" of good food, good drink and good company as we unwind from the week before our 7:00 pm Shabbat evening service.


Learn, Pray, Love Shabbat!

The third Shabbat morning of every month, every generation of our TY community comes together to Learn, Pray and Love Shabbat (we eat, too!).
10 am Interactive 1 hour Shabbat service with the participation of our Yeladon and Cohen School students.  11 am festive Shabbat brunch at our EG House (1251 Middle Road).

Savta Stories

TY's Sisterhood "Savtas" (Hebrew for "Grandmothers") are lining up to offer a warm lap and a carefully chosen story book to your 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year old.  We will of course finish up with a healthy and yummy snack!  Please RSVP by clicking here,  so we can make sure to have a Savta lap and a story reserved for your toddler.   E-mail Chief Sisterhood Savta, Ruth Ross, for more information!
