Here's What You Thought in March!Last month we asked: What is the best Purim costume you ever had or ever made for yourself or someone else?
We received one response from Rabbi Levin! "My father, Mel, was very creative and he particularly loved Purim. Actually he was born very close to Purim and his Hebrew name was Mordechai! He went all out making Purim costumes for me and for my brother. One year he got big pieces of poster board and wrapped us up to look like the Megillah! I had a silver hat that looked like the handle on top of Megillah! Another year, Dad broke out the paper mache and made these amazing hamentaschen costumes for us out of chicken wire and paper mache . . . hmm, I don't remember how we got in or out of them, but they looked amazing! Here's What You Thought in February!Last month we asked: Our TY Prayer Project team is interested in learning about experiences
you may have had at TY or at other congregations that "worked" for you:
What moved you? What made the service meaningful for you? What made
you comfortable at that service?
We received one response that reported that communal singing added to that person's positive experience of prayer. Looks like we asked a real hard question last month! Here's What You Thought in January!Thank you to everyone who responded to last month's "Tell Us What You Think" question. We asked: What is your first reaction to our new online format for the newsletter? Do you have any suggestions for our TY Hadashot/News?
16 people responded 14 said they are very satisfied 12 are members of TY 2 said they are satisfied 3 are non-members 1 is a staff member Here are the suggestions we received and our responses: Ma[ke] some links to the Web Site either for important events or even the calendar. To give more coverage Look at the top of your TY Hadashot/News e-mail. You'll find live links to our calendar and to other newsletter features. On the calendar, you can click on any event to read all the details! Your note about more coverage is a good one: We'll add a short "Save the Dates" entry to our next newsletter. Thank you! Why not highlight a board member or regular member each month-getting to know you. Also I did not see the Monday PM minyan listed on calendar. What a great idea! We had a short series like this written by Marcia Slobin a few years ago. Any volunteers to pick up this project? We apologize for the minyan omission, please take a look at the calendar, it should be fine now. Yashar Koach!!!!!! Wonderful effort to make the transition to paperless!!! But let's not forget our senior members who don't have computers. Thank you! Marcia Slobin (volunteer extrordinaire), our Recording Secretary, called every TY member for whom we did not have e-mail addresses. Marcia collected a few more addresses and about 35 TY members who have no e-mail are receiving hard copies of the newsletter. |
