This Thursday night and Friday will be SIMCHAT TORAH! What do we do on this holiday? We celebrate the Torah and our connection to G-d and Judaism. There will be lots of singing and dancing with the Torah. It is beautiful! This week we discussed the Torah. What does the Torah mean to the Jewish people? What is your connection to the Torah? We also ate snack, shook lulav and etrog, and had a lesson with the Rabbi - all in the Sukkah! Last week we learned about Sukkot... and the class already knew so much! What a great time we had helping with decorations for the Sukkah! We focused on the Arbah Minim, the "four types," the lulav (date branch), willow, myrtle and etrog (citron) and what they represent. We made our own versions of each of the arbah minim in model magic. We also played Jewperdy! What fun! HOMEWORK due 9/29: Reading and questions to be done with assistance from parents Hebrew Homework: For those in my hebrew class, I gave two (quick) worksheets and one optional worksheet As always, let me know if you have any questions! CHAG SAMEACH! HAPPY HOLIDAY!!
