Sukkot Fun!

We have had a joyful and Sukkot filled past two weeks of school! The kids have been on their best behaviors in the class and seem to be having a fantastic time! Focusing on the importance of the harvest season has played a key role in our class.

After reading a Sukkot book outside, the class was able to contribute their interior design abilities by helping decorate the Sukkah! We got to spend a lot of time in the Sukkah this past Sunday and it was so much fun! It is custom for people to gather in the Sukkah to eat their meals. To replicate that, the whole school ate yummy snacks together under the Sukkah. Then Rabbi Levin taught us about the symbolism of the lulav and etrog and recited the prayer as we shook them in all directions.

Hi! I am a 19 year old from Providence, Rhode Island and currently studying Elementary Education and Psychology at the University of Rhode Island.
Going to the Jewish Community Day School of RI (formally known as ASDS) from kindergarten through 8th grade, being an active member in USY (a jewish teen organization), traveling to Israel, and spending many summers at Camp JORI as both a camper and counselor have all played significant roles in shaping my Jewish identity that I'm proud to have. I hope to make an impact on each and every student and guide them as they begin their journey.
