We have had a joyful and Sukkot filled past two weeks of school! The kids have been on their best behaviors in the class and seem to be having a fantastic time! Focusing on the importance of the harvest season has played a key role in our class.
After reading a Sukkot book outside, the class was able to contribute their interior design abilities by helping decorate the Sukkah! We got to spend a lot of time in the Sukkah this past Sunday and it was so much fun! It is custom for people to gather in the Sukkah to eat their meals. To replicate that, the whole school ate yummy snacks together under the Sukkah. Then Rabbi Levin taught us about the symbolism of the lulav and etrog and recited the prayer as we shook them in all directions.
